‘The World Within’ visits the city of Caguas

Yesterday, I went to meet the sixth grade students of one of my teacher friends, Maribel Méndez. She had assigned ‘The World Within’ to her class and I was invited to visit the school, Concepción Méndez Cano in Caguas, and meet the students. I was, and still am, very thrilled because this is the first group of students who got to read my book and they loved it!

Sorry the photo is a bit out of focus, but you can appreciate the teacher, her classroom and two of the students. This is when she introduced me to the class.

The kids were paying attention to all I said and they came prepared with many important questions they wanted me answer.

Well, yes, you can tell I was very happy to be there.

I got to sign their books. This girl wanted to see what I was writing. They were all so happy too.

And a group photo, of course! I hope many more children get to read it. In case you’re interested, here are the links where you can download or get a printed copy of The World Within:

Oh what a sweet day that must have been for you. And kids are still real cute and excited at that age. Good for you Marielba! And good for them too.

Yes I was! My sister went with me and she was the official photographer of the event. The kids asked me a lot of interesting questions, and not just about the story, but about me, very sweet. Thank you for stopping by!

  4. Well done. It’s wonderful when young people are interested in and accept what we do. It makes it all worthwhile and extremely rewarding.

Yeah… she sent me too. I enjoyed the photos of the class and you too. I’ll have to check out your book and Caguas also.

  6. Very nice! We are proud of you. I got here on my own (before susie sent me) but I would have reached here eventually through susielandau.
